Visit KvinnSam

The KvinnSam library shares its facility with the Humanities Library at the Gothenburg University Library and is open to the public. We provide books, journals, and other printed materials focusing on women’s history and gender research. We offer plenty of study spaces with access to our books and journals.

Many of our newer books and journals are available on open shelves in our library, but parts of our collection are housed in the Humanities Library’s closed stacks and must be requested in advance. Learn more about how to use KvinnSam’s book collection here.

There are many journals on women’s history and gender studies available at KvinnSam and the Humanities Library. Learn more about how to access and use the journals here.

You can also study our unique archival collections dedicated to women's and gender history, comprising more than 600 metres of archival material from individuals and organizations, in the special reading room at the Humanities Library. These materials must be requested in advance. Read more about accessing KvinnSam’s archives here.

You can also receive support from KvinnSam’s librarians and archivists. Learn more about our services and support here.

Construction disturbances

Construction work is taking place in and around the Humanities Library. This may mean that it is noisy at times and that access may be more difficult. The work is due in part to the West Link Project (Västlänken) and renovation work.
