In the official decision, then Vice-Chancellor of Gothenburg University  Eva Wiberg stated: “There is no comparable resource anywhere in the country. To find similar endeavours, we must look beyond our borders and assess initiatives such as the Atria of the Netherlands, or the Women’s Library in the UK.”

Steering group

KvinnSam has a steering group that manages the infrastructure and is responsible for overall strategic issues and financial follow-up. The steering group has a heterogenous composition of members from the various faculties at the University of Gothenburg and The Swedish Secretariat for Gender Research, in order to be able to apply a holistic approach to the development of the research infrastructure.
