Archival collections
The KvinnSam archive is unique as the only archive in Sweden dedicated to women’s and gender history. It holds 600 shelf metres of historical material, ranging from the women’s suffrage movement and early activism of the late 19th century, through the 20th century and second-wave feminism, up to the present day. The archives are now more visible through thematic entries. Visitors can browse through archives on textile crafts, international development cooperation, religion, and much more.

Improved access points for researchers
Since 2018, KvinnSam is a research infrastructure at the University of Gothenburg and provides increased support to researchers. The new web pages provide examples of research projects in which KvinnSam is involved and describe how KvinnSam can support the development and coordination for research projects linked to KvinnSam's collections.

Women's history portals
The previous women's history portals on KvinnSam's old website could not be moved to the new website, with the exception of the portal about digitised historical Swedish periodicals for women. This is because both rebuilding and updating the portals is too resource-intensive. The book Kvinnohistoria i Sverige (Women's History in Sweden) contains the researchers' articles from the portals, in Swedish. The book describes the history of the Swedish women's movement in five themes - education, suffrage, labour, peace and the second-wave women's movement. The articles have been written by researchers Christina Florin, Josefin Rönnbäck, Ulla Wikander, Irene Andersson and Eva Schmitz. The book also contains a list of notable years and a bibliography. This can be read in the University of Gothenburg's platform for e-publishing GUPEA.
